UPDATE Dec 3, 2009
Alberta Fencing Association events for Cadet, Junior and Senior will require the AFA bib starting Jan 2010. Please see Elya for the correct mask bib for your brand of mask. U13, u15 and Veteran events will not be require the bib. The AFA has posted some information in this pamphlet.
The Canadian Federation has appliedthe new rules regarding the electric bib in foil for CSC circuit competitions in Cadet/Junior and Senior events. This rule will be in effect for the National Championships in July 2010. National level u15 and veteran division competitions will not be affected.
Allstar, Absolute and other brands: Please see Elya for the correct bib for your mask.
Leon Paul masks:
Kits are available to retro-fit older masks to conform to the rules. This can be done at home, but you need 24 hrs dry time. Don't wait to get your gear until the las minute!

These bibs can be ordered from www.fencingcanada.ca
For Cadets (u17 category) and older, the club recommends the FIE approved retro bib from Leon Paul. This requires the use of a clear (special for foil) mask clip to connect the lame to the bib.
For u15's who already have a Leon Paul mask, (if you are not competing at the CSC) and younger, the club recommends the Leon Paul wire free retro bib (picutred above, left)
If you own an FIE X-change mask from Leon Paul, you can order an X-change foil lame bib.
For training, I suggest you retrofit your non-lame bib with the wire free bib, and get a new x-change lame bib and a foil bib wire for competition.
