Calgary Fencing League
Tournament registration is often through the www.askFRED.net, the fencing registration database. There is a local competition ranking, but it does not impact your ranking for provincial circuit or national ranking. This is a development circuit, to learn how competitions work, practice in competitive environments, compete and learn from different styles of fencers through exposure to inter-club competition. Some events will run concerently for national rankings points list - a provincial competitive license is required for these events. Categories Description indicates event (Foil, epee or sabre) event type (individual or team) and gender (mixed, men's or women's) Mixed categories are for both boys and girls, or men and women, and is common in younger age (youth) categories (y10, y12) and in Veterans categories (40+). |

Alberta Fencing Association
Organize the Alberta Circuit. Alberta rankings are used for funding selected athletes and provincial team programs. Club and recreational events are also listed on the site. Ranking is maintained based on a points system that emphasizes participation. Larger events (NAC, Canada Cup, Western Championships) are worth more points than AFA circuit events. |

Organize the Canada Cup series of Competitions and the National Championships. CFF level tournaments, athletes can compete in their age group and one higher. Two rankings are maintained:

United States Fencing Association
Organize the North American Cup (NAC) series of competitions. Each NAC has a different schedule of events, not all age categories are included in each tournament. 2018-2019 NAC Schedule, Deadlines Regional SYC, RYC (Super Regional Circuit, Regional Your Circuit) Calendar, PDF USFA clubs organize local and regional tournaments, which can be found on www.askfred.net Gladiators Fencing Club organizes annual competition trips to larger regional USFA tournaments. Attendance at NAC and regional circuit competitions is an important stage for National Level competitors and Provincial level competitors who are in the top of the AFA ranking list to develop and progress. Y10, Y12 and Y14 is a good age level to begin competing at this level, if you are among the top in your age group in the AFA circuit. |
